Gain 30% increased damage for 20 seconds after killing an elite pack. *Some gems cannot be upgraded infinitely. The gem will still be upgrade-able and a separate stat can be upgraded. At a level 200 upgrade to a Legendary Gem, you will unlock a passive ability that will greatly assist your character depending on the gem. After reaching a certain level, you will encounter an NPC that will allow you upgrade a Legendary Gem of your choice. These are considered very rare drops from Elder Rifts and sell well in the Market.Upgrading your Legendary Gem can be done through a Tiered Rift. NOTE: There are a few legendary gems that have no crafting recipe: Blood-Soaked Jade, Blessing of the Worthy, Chip of Stoned Flesh, Echoing Shade, Howler’s Call, Phoenix Ashes, and Seeping Bile. You can purchase specific runes from the Fading Ember Trader in the Palace Courtyard with that currency. 
The paid Battle Pass has a daily quest that rewards 300 Platinum.Īnother way to obtain specific valuable runes is to complete Elder Rifts slotted with Rare Crests or Legendary Crests to earn Fading Embers. You can purchase Platinum with Eternal Orbs.
You can craft Legendary Gems at the Apprentice Jeweler (located in the Rakkis Plaza in Westmarch).
Legendary Gems require an additional currency known as Platinum. For larger amounts of runes, you need Legendary Crests or Rare Crests slotted into the Elder Rift UI. The mysterious legendary gem recipe that requires FA runes has a chance to craft 1-5 Star legendary gems.Ĭrafting requires materials that might be randomly looted in Elder Rifts. Crafted Legendary Gems only have 2-stars. These are all the Legendary Gems that can be crafted.
